Job description The Energy Manager will act as the strategic lead for the implementation of the GPA Energy Strategy across the GPA managed portfolio, ensuring operational alignment with the agency’s overarching sustainability and environmental objectives.
Acting as the primary interface and Subject Matter Expert (SME), the post holder will provide critical advisory services on energy compliance and utilities management, whilst supporting the GPA’s Integrated Delivery Teams on Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES), Government Greening Commitment (GGC), and statutory environmental reporting. The Energy Manager will ensure these initiatives synchronise seamlessly with the GPA's Environmental Management System, Utilities Strategy, and Net Zero Programme Delivery Strategy.
Key Responsibilities Strategy and Leadership Lead the implementation of the GPA’s Energy Strategy in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Integrate energy infrastructure within the GPA’s broader estate planning, and ensure alignment with the GPA’s Environment Management System, Government Greening Commitment, the GPA Utilities Strategy and the GPA’s carbon targets. Foster close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the Energy Strategy supports investment decisions for asset replacements, future acquisitions, disposals and other property transactions.
Act as the primary interface for managing energy related enquiries from the workforce, departmental partners, regional supply chain partners, strategic partners and other government departments. Commercial Management Oversee the management of the Utilities Bureaux, ensuring utility bills are validated and corresponding data is transferred to the appropriate GPA systems.
