As an English SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English and literacy lessons that are adapted to the individual needs and abilities of our pupils. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties and learning difficulties, creating a structured and supportive environment where every pupil can achieve their potential.
The role will involve teaching English across different levels of attainment and adapting the curriculum to ensure learning is meaningful, accessible and appropriately challenging., Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and differentiated English and literacy lessons for pupils with a range of SEN Develop and implement individualised learning plans and EHCP targets in collaboration with the SENDCo and wider multidisciplinary team Adapt teaching, resources and assessment approaches to meet individual learning needs and differing levels of attainment Use structured, multisensory and creative approaches to support communication, literacy and wider learning Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, using assessment information to inform future planning and interventions Create a positive, structured and supportive classroom environment Use effective behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies to support pupils with complex needs Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to provide joined-up support Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning Communicate effectively with parents and carers and contribute to annual reviews, assessments and team meetings Contribute to the wider life and development of the school, You will work as part of a dedicated team, with opportunities to collaborate with teaching, therapeutic and specialist professionals to provide a truly personalised approach to education.
Serenity School Crawley is looking for a passionate and dedicated English SEN Teacher to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher, or an unqualified teacher with relevant experience, to contribute to a high-quality, inclusive provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will have a strong interest in English and literacy, while understanding that teaching in a specialist SEND setting requires a flexible, personalised and holistic approach.
You will work closely with the Headteacher, SENDCo, teaching assistants and multidisciplinary professionals to support pupils to make progress academically, socially and emotionally., Holds QTS, PGCE or recognised equivalent teaching status (unqualified teachers with relevant experience will also be considered) Has experience of teaching pupils with SEND or additional needs Has a strong knowledge and understanding of English and literacy Can plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet a wide range of individual needs Has experience supporting pupils with autism, speech and language difficulties and/or learning difficulties Can use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform teaching Has strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient and consistent approach Is able to build positive relationships with pupils and work effectively with colleagues and families Is flexible, collaborative and committed to continuous professional development Is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential, If you are passionate about English, committed to SEND education and would like to make a real difference to the lives of our pupils, we would love to hear from you.
