Applications are invited for: Estates Management Office Estate Manager I (Buildings & Grounds Maintenance) (Ref. 260000JE) (Closing date: September 22, 2026) The appointee will (a) act as the Registered Inspector under the Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme (MBIS) of the Buildings Department for University buildings, where applicable; (b) conduct MBIS/VBIS, MWIS/VWIS and annual building inspections for assigned buildings/premises; (c) manage A&A works, renovation, maintenance and repair works; (d) prepare tender documents, budget, memo, technical proposal, work progress, inspection and incident reports for the A&A works, renovation, maintenance and repair works; and (e) perform other duties as assigned.
He/She may be required to work overtime, on shifts and on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary. Applicants should be/have (i) a Registered Inspector of MBIS; (ii) a recognised Bachelor’s degree in Construction-related disciplines; (iii) at least 7 years’ experience in supervising renovation, A&A works, MBIS, maintenance and repair, with exposure in statutory submission and monitoring outsource contractors/consultants subsequent to fulfilling (ii) above; (iv) sound knowledge of building ordinances and statutory submission process; (v) a good knowledge of project management, cost control, tendering and contract administration; and (vi) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Hands-on experience in preparing manuals, schedules, tender documents and discussion papers is preferred. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
