  POSITION DESCRIPTION Reporting to the CFO, the Executive Director of Accounting Business Services is a key finance leadership role responsible for directing accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury oversight, audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and accounting shared services for the entire casino gaming operation, resorts, and the various business entities. This is an opportunity to partner with senior leadership across many entities and lead accounting operations for a complex enterprise with meaningful organizational impact.

The role and its function are part of the Accounting Business shared service model. A Team Member in a shared service structure works within a dedicated business unit (including people, processes, and technologies) structured as a centralized point of service and focused on defined business functions. These units typically serve multiple business groups enterprise-wide and typically have established Service Level Agreements.

PRIMARY DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND TASKS Directs the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, audit reports, and management reporting that clearly reflect the financial position and performance of gaming operations and affiliated business entities. Partners effectively with casino Team Members, managers, contractors, outside agencies, and other enterprise entities to ensure compliance with regulatory and financial requirements of the casino gaming and enterprise entities.

Provides executive oversight and cross-functional alignment for procurement-related controls and financial objectives, partnering with the Director of Supply Chain Management to support inventory control, buying power, and vendor governance. Provides executive oversight of Cash Services and Vault departments for gaming operations, ensuring effective controls, regulatory compliance, security, and operational continuity.

Leads annual financial statement audits, agreed-upon procedures engagements, and regulatory examinations, coordinating timely responses and successful resolution of findings. Maintains the chart of accounts to ensure integrity, efficient account usage, and effective financial reporting. Maintains and reconciles balance sheet accounts. Oversees liquidity, working capital, cash positioning, and treasury activities to safeguard funds and optimize financial returns in accordance with approved policies and controls.

Partners with ERP product owners and shared services leaders to improve accounting systems, strengthen controls, and streamline processes. Oversees all financial accounting, related reports, and associated paperwork. Prepares debt compliance calculations and ensures compliance with debt covenants. Makes monthly tribal distributions and ensures compliance with debt covenants, internal controls, and allocation plan governance.

Ensures the gaming operation’s success for any internal, external, or NIGC annual audits. Ensures compliance with the Minimum Internal Control Standards as set forth by the NIGC in conjunction with risk management and compliance. Ensures accounting operations and financial reporting comply with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), applicable regulatory requirements, and established internal controls.

Hires, trains, develops, empowers, coaches, counsels, conducts performance and salary reviews, resolves problems, provides open communication vehicles, disciplines, and recommends terminations as appropriate.
