The Family Literacy Facilitator will work directly with parents and children in promoting intergenerational literacy activities and parenting skills. Must work effectively with people from all backgrounds and situations. The majority of participants are low-income. JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Conduct home visits 2. Teach assigned parents and engage parent and child in literacy and learning activities. 3. Implement assigned literacy and parenting lessons during home visits.
4. Communicate with supervisors. 5. Conduct pre- and post- family literacy assessments. 6. Maintain and keep current required documentation. 7. Ensure flexibility in schedule in work hours in order to accommodate the family’s schedule for visits. 8. Participate as an effective member of the Family Literacy Project team. 9. Submit reports in a timely manner. 10. Attend scheduled meetings and training.
11. Other duties as assigned.
