Field Guide - Luxury Lodge - Waterberg, Limpopo A prestigious luxury lodge in the Waterberg is seeking an experienced and passionate Field Guide to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified guide who is passionate about wildlife, conservation and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding guests on foot and by safari vehicle, while providing a holistic and memorable safari experience.

The role will also involve supporting Safari Management with departmental administration, as well as mentoring and providing leadership to fellow field guides. Key Responsibilities: Deliver exceptional and unforgettable guest experiences on foot and from a game-viewing vehicle. Host guests throughout their stay and ensure their needs are consistently met. Conduct informative and engaging game drives and walking safaris.

Safely view and interpret potentially dangerous game with guests, both from a vehicle and on foot. Deliver informative lectures and presentations on relevant ecological, wildlife and conservation topics. Assist with guest transfers to and from the lodge. Support Safari Management with administrative duties and departmental operations. Assist with the training, mentorship and development of other field guides.

Participate in rotational standby duties. Carry out basic vehicle maintenance and ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained to an appropriate standard. Ensure all reserve, lease and concession rules and regulations are strictly observed. Maintain high standards of weapon handling, safety, proficiency and operating procedures. Foster positive interpersonal relationships between Safari staff, lodge staff and guests.

Contribute to conservation initiatives and uphold the principles of responsible tourism. Work collaboratively with the wider lodge team to ensure smooth daily operations. Continuously develop personal knowledge, skills and qualifications through mentorship, training and practical experience. Requirements: FGASA Qualified Field Guide and Trails Guide. Valid SAPS Firearm Competency. Current FGASA registration.

Current ARH registration. Current First Aid certification. Valid PrDP. Current NDT registration. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities. Good administrative skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure with a high level of responsibility. Comfortable working long hours and within the demands of a luxury safari environment. Passionate about wildlife, conservation and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
