We employ more than 3,500 people across our London, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester offices. We are looking for a graduate Finance Analyst to join the Group Management Reporting team. This entry level accounting role sits within a high performing function, being primarily involved in the month-end close process and helping to support the financial control responsibilities of the Group. As a graduate role, this position would suit someone who is wanting to take their first steps into the world of Finance.
The role provides broad exposure to a variety of work streams with opportunities to progress in your accounting career. We are looking for a candidate with an analytical mindset, someone who actively seeks to understand processes in depth, is able to ask thoughtful questions, take a proactive approach to delivering tasks, and looks to identify opportunities for process improvement as they arise. Understanding the ‘why’ not just the ‘how’ is key to success in this role.
Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you will be expected to complete the ACA qualification with study time and full funding provided throughout your training, alongside the requirement for the candidate to commit to significant self-study. Responsibilities Please note that the duties below represent examples of potential tasks and projects you may be involved in; actual day-to-day responsibilities may vary depending on business needs: Completing month end accounting tasks within reporting deadlines (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, etc.) Performing bank reconciliations and balance sheet substantiations Owning process documentation and completing control testing Supporting with the accounting of contracts with key third party suppliers Assisting managers with finance projects and ad hoc analysis Using BigQuery/Looker to study data and produce meaningful insights Generating KPIs for monthly reporting and drafting commentary Driving process improvements Requirements A graduate with a relevant degree (or vocational equivalent), with demonstrable interest in the banking and fintech sector Candidate should have 0-1 years of post-graduation Finance related work experience A can-do attitude, belief in our vision, and a willingness to roll-up your sleeves and get stuck into anything and everything Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and capable of maintaining clear and timely communication with their manager regardless of location Tangible evidence of an underlying drive for a career in Finance Committed to pursuing and completing the ACA accounting qualification Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel is necessary Benefits 25 days holiday (plus take your public holiday allowance whenever works best for you) An extra day’s holiday for your birthday Annual leave is increased with length of service, and you can choose to buy or sell up to five extra days off 16 hours paid volunteering time a year Salary sacrifice, company enhanced pension scheme Life insurance at 4x your salary Private Medical Insurance with VitalityHealth including mental health support and cancer care.
