Education: BEng Mechanical Engineering Job Experience & Skills Required: Minimum 5 years' experience in Building Services Fire protection and fire engineering design experience Understanding of SANS regulations and fire codes Ability to work on commercial, healthcare and industrial projects Duties: Design fire detection, alarm, sprinkler and hydrant systems for buildings. Develop fire engineering reports and compliance documentation.
Conduct hydraulic calculations for fire protection systems. Coordinate fire system layouts with mechanical, electrical and architectural disciplines. Perform site inspections and monitor installation quality during construction phases. Review building plans and identify fire life safety risks. Assist with authority submissions and approval processes. Develop smoke ventilation and evacuation strategies for complex facilities.
