We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Southampton as our new Fitness Trainer. Reporting to the Director of Spa, the Fitness Trainer is responsible for designing, leading, and supervising fitness programs and personal training sessions for guests. This position ensures safe, effective, and engaging workouts across a variety of fitness levels while delivering exceptional service and fostering a welcoming wellness environment., Guest Fitness & Personal Training Lead group fitness classes, including yoga, Pilates, aerobics, strength training, functional training, and specialty fitness programs.
Provide personalized training to guests, assessing fitness levels, creating tailored workout plans, and monitoring progress. Educate guests on proper exercise techniques, wellness practices, and injury prevention. Motivate and inspire guests, delivering an outstanding wellness experience consistent with Fairmont brand standards. Fitness Supervision & Facility Oversight Supervise the fitness area to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of equipment.
Maintain and organize fitness equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Monitor and support junior instructors or trainees, providing coaching and guidance as required. Operational Support & Collaboration Assist the Director of Spa in coordinating fitness schedules, special wellness programs, and events. Collaborate with Spa, Wellness, and Guest Services teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Track participation, monitor guest satisfaction, and provide feedback to management for program improvements. Team Development & Training Mentor and support other fitness staff in delivering safe and effective programs. Participate in continuous learning initiatives to stay current with fitness trends, techniques, and certifications. Promote a positive, inclusive, and professional team environment aligned with Accor values.
Other Responsibilities Contribute to departmental projects, marketing initiatives, and wellness events as required. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Spa., Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by operational needs. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of fitness and exercise physiology with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences., To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: ·, Minimum 2+ years of experience as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, or fitness supervisor, ideally in a luxury hotel, resort, or wellness environment. Experience leading group fitness classes and personal training sessions for diverse fitness levels., Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification from a recognized organization, such as NASM - National Academy of Sports Medicine, ACE - America Council on Exercise, and other internationally recognized fitness certifications.
Additional certifications in specialized fitness programs (e.g., Yoga, Pilates, Strength & Conditioning) are a strong advantage. Knowledge of CPR/AED and first aid is required. Competencies, Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of fitness principles, exercise techniques, and wellness practices. Experience with fitness software or digital tracking tools is an advantage. Ability to create safe, engaging, and effective workouts for all levels.
