Relief Floating Support Officers to work in our floating support services in Ceredigion involves working with vulnerable people to prevent homelessness and develop skills needed to maintain their tenancies. These services specifically supports those who are experiencing mental health conditions or mild learning difficulties, however other needs may also be supported. You will be helping people achieve their goals and make a very real and difference to their lives.
Shifts are Monday-Friday days only - Relief colleagues pick their own shifts from what is available. Driving is required as this role can mean time in the community. There is also a possibility of a Relief Scheme Support Officers positions to work in our Ceredigion drop-in hub. This role does not required driving but will be operating the same shift hours but based in our hub in Lampeter You will provide community support to individuals (18+) who have mild learning disabilities or mental health issues.
The support provided can be around housing challenges, mental health issues, substance misuse, and other complex needs. With assisting with sustaining & securing suitable accommodation, it is rewarding when you are part of an individual's development and growth. Managers will offer shifts with as much notice as possible, but you might be contacted on an ad-hoc basis when shift cover is needed.
As such, the hours may not be guaranteed. There is also the chance for you to work across further services in other areas of Wales should you wish to. Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential. It is essential to hold a valid UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle.
