FT Tenure Track Faculty, Teacher Education Department

The School of Education and Human Services seeks to hire a full-time faculty member for the position of Assistant Professor of Education in the Teacher Education Department (Undergraduate and Graduate Education Programs). Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will:Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in social studies methodology for Early Childhood, Childhood, and AdolescenceTeach courses in a variety of topics in special educationTeach various foundational education coursesPrepare and teach courses using instructional technology for in-person, hybrid, and asynchronous classesMentor students in Master's thesis courses in action researchPrepare students for future and current roles as social studies and/or special education teachersProvide academic advisement to studentsKeep current in theory and practice related to social studies and special education Make scholarly contributions to the education field and the University communityAttend all School and University faculty meetings, serve on Program, School and University-wide committeesParticipate in accreditation activities Collaborate with colleagues Create and maintain K-12 community connectionsAid in the recruitment of students for education programs Minimum Qualifications: Ed.D.

or Ph.D. in education or relevant field, consideration given to candidates pursuing doctoral studiesNYS Certification in Adolescent Social Studies and Special EducationMinimum of five years teaching in an elementary/middle/high school setting in both special education and social studiesStrong background in teaching methods, curriculum, and assessmentEvidence of research and scholarly publicationUniversity teaching experience preferred Salary Information: When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity.

The hiring salary range for this position, at the rank of Assistant Professor, has a salary range of $82,500 to $85,000. This hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
