We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive school. This rewarding role involves working closely with teachers to support pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing across the classroom. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children reach their full potential by providing academic support, encouraging positive behaviour, and creating an inclusive learning environment.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Burnley Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour Contract Type: Full-time Start Date: Monday 2 nd November 2026 or ASAP About the Role Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons. Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives. Assist in preparing classroom resources and learning materials.

Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment. Encourage pupil participation, independence, and confidence in learning. Support children with varying abilities and additional needs when required. Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher. Supervise pupils during break times, trips, and school activities as required. Promote positive behaviour and support the school's safeguarding policies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting. A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, caring, and adaptable approach. The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
