Overview A leading pathology group in eastern North Carolina is seeking two full-time AP/CP Pathologists to join its physician-owned private practice in Greenville, North Carolina. Established in 1997, the group operates a robust independent laboratory and provides comprehensive surgical pathology and cytopathology services across eastern North Carolina.
This opportunity includes a partnership track and the potential to assume medical directorship responsibilities. The practice partners with six hospitals, numerous surgical centers, and a variety of physician offices throughout the region. Position Highlights Full-time AP/CP Pathologist opportunity Independent Laboratory ~ Serving 5 Hospitals, Surgical Centers & Physician Practices Acessto a diverse Specimen Mix Hiring two Pathologists Partnership opportunity Medical Directorship opportunity Physician-owned private practice Established and respected group founded in 1997 Independent laboratory setting No call No weekends No autopsies Clinical Responsibilities Read approximately 20 to 25 cases per day Perform fine needle aspirations (FNAs) and frozen sections Provide pathology services at three hospitals, with workload adjusted on procedure days Work primarily from the main office location Assume medical directorship oversight for smaller rural hospitals Participate in required on-site visits for CAP compliance, typically two visits per year Qualifications Board certified or board eligible in AP/CP Pathology Proficient in performing frozen sections Eligible for or currently holding a North Carolina medical license Interest in assuming medical directorship duties Practice Support Senior pathologists provide mentorship and support Orchard EMR Company vehicle and gas provided for travel to procedure sites Malpractice insurance provided North Carolina medical license fees covered Hospital system fees covered CAP membership and CME provided Schedule and Work Environment The position offers an excellent quality of life with a predictable weekday schedule and no routine disruptions from call or weekend work.
Procedures are performed at three hospitals, but the primary worksite is the main office, and travel support is fully provided. Greenville, North Carolina Greenville is a vibrant city of approximately 100,000 residents and is home to East Carolina University.
