About the Role Faircape Life seeks a Groundsman to maintain the gardens and grounds at Cle Du Cap in the Southern Suburbs, ensuring lush lawns, flowerbeds, trees and overall estate beauty for residents. Key Responsibilities Maintain lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs and trees: pruning, cutting grass, weeding, watering. Reinstate plant beds and garden redevelopment. Inspect, clean and maintain tools and machinery (lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, brush‑cutters).
Oil and sharpen cutting equipment blades. Manage refuse: collect household waste, sort recyclables, clean and sanitise bins, load garden waste for disposal. Housekeeping tasks: clean workshop/canteen, security kiosk area, open courtyard umbrellas, inspect and spray perimeter fence for weeds. Sweep synthetic and paved surfaces in courtyards. Qualifications & Experience Horticulture or related qualification advantageous.
Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience in a similar grounds maintenance role. Knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, horticultural machinery, tools and irrigation systems (advantageous). Ability to perform basic grounds maintenance tasks, lift heavy objects, and understand health & safety rules. Skills & Attributes Takes initiative, reliable, hardworking, driven, punctual, team player. Professional appearance, good interpersonal skills, attention to detail.
Specific Requirements Clear health, criminal and credit records. Two written references. Working Hours & Benefits Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00 with a 45‑minute lunch break.
