OIN OUR TEAM! The Ritz-Carlton Abama Resort, Tenerife , is looking for a Group Sales Trainee to join our team for a period of 6 months. This opportunity is aimed at university students who are looking to gain professional experience in luxury hospitality, sales, and events , within an international environment focused on service excellence. As a Group Sales Trainee , you will support the Group Sales team in managing and coordinating group requests, events, and business opportunities, contributing to the positioning of The Ritz-Carlton Abama as a leading destination for high-end groups, meetings, incentives, and events.
You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced hospitality professionals and gain first-hand insight into the commercial operations of a luxury resort, participating in sales processes, proposal preparation, client follow-up, and coordination with the different departments involved in each group or event. Key Responsibilities Support the Group Sales team with the day-to-day management of group, meeting, incentive, and event enquiries.
Assist with the preparation and follow-up of commercial proposals, quotations, and contracts . Enter, update, and maintain group and business opportunity information in the department's systems and tools. Follow up on enquiries, leads, and business opportunities, ensuring a timely and professional response. Support communication with clients, agencies, companies, and other commercial partners under the supervision of the team.
Assist in the organization and coordination of site inspections, sales visits, and resort presentations . Collaborate with other departments, including Banquets, Catering, Events, Reservations, Front Office, and Finance, to ensure the smooth coordination of groups. Support the planning and follow-up of groups and events from the enquiry stage through to execution. Prepare documentation, presentations, agendas, and other materials required for meetings and events.
Maintain an up-to-date database of clients, agencies, companies, and commercial contacts. Monitor market trends, competitors, and business opportunities within the MICE and Group Business segments. Support the preparation of basic reports and the collection of data related to sales, groups, and events. Participate in commercial activities, presentations, trade shows, workshops, and other business development initiatives when required.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint , will be considered an advantage. Confidence and fluency in Spanish and English . Knowledge of additional languages will be considered an advantage. Previous experience in sales, events, tourism, hospitality, customer service, or administration will be a plus.
