Location: Council Headquarters, Hamilton Hours: 35 hours per week, Permanent Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8.45am - 4.45pm, Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm Salary / Hourly Rate: £42,228 - £48,633 per year An exciting opportunity has arisen within Housing and Technical Resources for a highly motivated and skilled Strategy and Policy Officer, who will play a key role in progressing the development, implementation, monitoring and review of policies, strategies and plans across the Resource.
You will possess a strong understanding of the social housing sector and the challenges currently facing housing and homelessness services. Knowledge of housing legislation and practical experience of working within the housing sector would be advantageous. You will be responsible for: Undertaking effective research, analysis and evaluation of housing policies and strategies, identifying key implications and opportunities for the Resource at a local and national level.
Preparing high-quality written reports, briefing papers and other strategic and procedural documentation across a range of housing, property and homelessness service areas. Developing appropriate responses on behalf of the Resource and the Council Building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers, elected members, partner organisations and customers.
You will be proactive, analytical and solution-focused, with excellent organisational and project management skills. You will be able to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively and deliver high-quality outcomes within competing deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, together with excellent IT skills and the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
