Join Barclays as a Head of Colleague Development where you will play a key role in advancing the leadership, commercial, professional, and behavioural capabilities of colleagues across UK Corporate Banking (UKCB). You will help ensure teams have the skills, confidence and performance mindset needed to deliver business strategy, support clients, and drive sustainable growth. Working at the intersection of coaching, facilitation, learning design and strategic advisory, you will partner with leaders and stakeholders to strengthen individual, team and organisational performance.

You will design and deliver impactful development solutions, foster a strong coaching culture, and help translate learning into meaningful business outcomes. You will also contribute to the broader people and business agenda by enhancing leadership effectiveness, supporting team performance, and enabling colleagues to apply new skills and behaviours in their day-to-day roles. Through a blend of executive coaching, leadership development, team effectiveness initiatives, and capability consulting, you will help create a high-performing and inclusive environment where individuals and teams can thrive.

Role Purpose: To accelerate UKCB's strategic priorities by building the leadership, professional, commercial, and behavioural capabilities required to drive colleague performance, sales culture, leadership effectiveness, and organisational success. Through coaching, facilitation and development interventions, the role helps create the conditions that enable colleagues and the business to perform at their best.

Key Accountabilities: Deliver executive and leadership coaching that improves individual, team and organisational performance. Design and facilitate development interventions that build the critical capabilities required to deliver UKCB strategy. Partner with senior leaders to identify capability gaps and performance opportunities aligned to business priorities. Lead and embed coaching-led leadership practices across UKCB.

Deliver team effectiveness and Insights Discovery programmes that strengthen collaboration, communication, and leadership impact. Support leadership, talent, and succession initiatives to build a future-ready workforce. Act as a trusted advisor on capability, performance, and leadership development. Measure and demonstrate the impact of coaching and development activity on colleague and business outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will need: Experience designing and delivering engaging learning and development programmes for a range of audiences. Expertise in facilitation, including leading workshops, learning events and group discussions. Experience creating high-quality learning content across multiple formats. Willingness to travel regionally as required, typically 1-2 days per week. Other highly valued skills include: Leadership experience, including the ability to guide, coach and develop others.

Experience using AI tools to enhance learning design, content development, and facilitation. Professional coaching qualifications, such as an EMCC accreditation. Expertise in soft skills facilitation, including communication, influencing, collaboration, and leadership development. This role will be based in Northampton. Although, applications from London or other locations will be considered. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
