We're recruiting for a Head of Strategy and PMO here at Justice Digital, Data and Science to be part of our warm and collaborative Justice Data team. This role will lead the Data Strategy Hub and the PMO team, bringing these teams closer together. The role will help to co-ordinate workstreams across the directorate and provide senior leadership to our central Data Teams, covering Private Office, Engagement, Finance and workforce planning.
This is a highly visible G6 role, well suited to someone looking to progress to SCS as their next career step. In addition to leading two G7-led teams, you will work closely with the G6 Chief of Staff and report directly to the Chief Data Officer / Chief Scientific Adviser, reflecting the strategic importance of these functions to the direction and success of Justice Data and Science., Lead on directorate strategy and continue to embed the Data Direction, showcasing how this aligns and fulfils the wider Justice Digital, Data and Science (JDDS) strategy and provides impact and value across MoJ.
Build your network of stakeholders to influence wider departmental strategy to meet Data needs. Transform the way we agree and monitor strategic priorities for the Directorate; work with and through the leadership team and strategy leads to continue to iterate Objective Key Results (OKRs), overhaul directorate governance and create a roadmap for delivery. Elevate the reputation of Justice Data and Science within and beyond the MoJ, telling great data stories and increasing the visibility of our work.
Work with teams across the directorate to ensure data is a key part of the narrative around service transformation. Bring together the current Data Strategy and PMO teams so that they hold together (and are responsible for overseeing) our strategy, roadmap, prioritisation and how we monitor delivery as a directorate. Senior oversight of workforce, commercial and financial planning for Justice Data and Science, demonstrating strong financial judgement and risk management.
Work closely with Enabling Services, JDDS and wider Strategy to implement the hub and spoke model for central functions and engage and maintain strong links to the Science Office as part of the wider JDDS portfolio. Champion the inclusion of data requirements within departmental processes and deliver fundamental changes to these that change how Data is included (e.g. digital assurance processes and commercial).
Provide leadership, professional oversight, and line management to a diverse team and actively build and grow the team in a strategic and flexible way to ensure pace, effective delivery and the meeting of key goals and responsibilities.
