Quick Facts: Location: Big Stone Gap, VA Start Date: 11/01/2026 End Date: 01/31/2027 Shift: 24-hour call shifts (day shift clinic hours while on call, 8a-8a; onsite 8 hours/day, Mon-Fri) Hours/Week: Approximately 40 hours/week Employment Type: Contract License/Certifications: VA License, BC in Hematology/Oncology, BLS, DEA Experience: Minimum 1 year of Hem/Onc experience Patient Population: Adults 18+ EMR: Epic Pay & Benefits: Hourly Pay Rate: $5,070.00 Pay package discussed upon application Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with laws Licensure, certification, and travel reimbursements when applicable 24/7 dedicated support team What You’ll Do: Provide inpatient consultations and outpatient care for hematology and oncology patients at multiple facilities.
Maintain clinic responsibilities, including Friday clinic coverage at JMH. Support tele-consultations for additional facilities during call weeks. Collaborate with dedicated nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams. Support patient management for adult patients with complex hematology and oncology needs. Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system. What You Need: VA Medical License in hand (required before start date) BC in Hematology/Oncology BLS certification DEA registration Minimum 1 year of hematology/oncology experience Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Clean background, no MP history (settled or unsettled) About the Assignment: This role involves floating between two prominent facilities, supporting adult hematology and oncology patients with a diverse case load, including inpatient consultations, outpatient follow-ups, and telehealth support.
