This position focuses on emergency GI procedures, inpatient consults, and hospital-based GI coverage , with no outpatient clinic responsibilities.

This is a fast-paced, procedure-heavy role ideal for physicians comfortable with high-volume consults and acute GI care . Schedule This is a block-based inpatient GI coverage role with rotating extended assignments: 7-day inpatient blocks (Monday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM) Weekend coverage included (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM) 10-hour days: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM + night call Guaranteed 10-hour shifts Upcoming Blocks: 05/04 – 05/11 06/22 – 06/26 07/20 – 07/24 Additional 7-day rotating blocks as needed Clinical Responsibilities Provide inpatient gastroenterology consults and hospital coverage Manage high-volume consult service (30–50 total census) Evaluate 9–16 new consults per day Perform emergency GI procedures (no ERCP or EUS required) Support inpatient teams with urgent GI decision-making Collaborate with anesthesia and hospitalist teams Practice Details Setting: Hospital-only (no outpatient clinic) EMR: Epic Hospital Size: 593-bed facility Support: Onsite anesthesia team Patient Population: Adult (18+) Procedural Focus: Emergency inpatient GI procedures only Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology Active Pennsylvania license required DEA required Minimum 1 year experience required Comfortable with high-volume inpatient consults and emergency procedures Additional Information Credentialing timeframe: ~90 days (temporary privileges available for clean files) 10-hour shifts guaranteed No outpatient clinic responsibilities Why This Opportunity?
