We are looking to recruit a Highways Projects Manager to join our Highways & Environmental Services service. About the role Under the general direction of the Service Manager- Network & Asset Maintenance, and in collaboration with Operational Managers, to plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of Highways Projects, including: - Winter Service provision. - Emergency/Out-of-hours response.
- Annual Surface Dressing Programme. - Maintenance of Highways Network & Asset Quality Management Systems to ISO standard (ISO 45001, 15001 and 9001)., We welcome applications from non-Welsh speakers. All successful applicants requiring support to learn/improve their Welsh language skills will be offered funded lessons, during work time, to help reach the desired standard. - Flexi-time: Hours may be worked within a defined bandwidth, Monday to Friday, subject to service needs., Please note that this post is within a service that is currently undergoing a review. The contract type will remain unchanged, although there may be some adjustments to responsibilities and reporting arrangements over time. HND/HNC Civil Engineering and/or demonstrable evidence of a minimum of 5 years' relevant successful experience.
- Full UK driving licence. - Internal Auditor Certification (can be achieved when in post). - Practical experience in managing financial/budgetary management, procurement and human resources. - Practical experience of managing and effectively working with medium sized teams. - Knowledge and experience of the operational aspects of the identified service areas outlined in the Job description.
