We have also recently appointed a talented and ambitious Deputy Manager with an exceptionally bright future in the care sector. Together with the clinical team and Unit Managers, the core leadership team is building well. The next Home Manager will inherit people with ability and commitment; the opportunity is to unite them behind one clear standard and one shared direction. Fourteen beds are currently available, with an average weekly fee of approximately £1,118.

Quality must come first, but as confidence and reputation grow, there is a meaningful commercial opportunity to rebuild occupancy and create a strong, sustainable home. The Backing to Succeed Turnaround is demanding work, but it should never be lonely work. The successful Home Manager will report to a highly regarded Regional Director and work closely with two experienced Regional Support Managers who understand the service and the improvement journey ahead.

Beyond the region, Guthrie House will have visible support from experienced operational, clinical and quality colleagues. This is not support promised from a distance. It is a team around the home, bringing oversight, expertise and practical help while giving the Home Manager the authority to lead. What Success Will Look Like The first priority will be to ensure the improvements already under way are embedded and sustained.

Clinical practice, care planning, infection prevention, staffing oversight and quality assurance must become consistently strong, not simply compliant for the next inspection. From there, success will be seen in a confident leadership team, a positive and accountable culture, improved retention, lower agency use and trusted relationships with residents, relatives, the Care Inspectorate and HSCP partners.

Commercial recovery will follow quality. The goal is to strengthen the home's reputation, grow occupancy responsibly and create a service known across Edinburgh for excellent care, strong leadership and a team people want to join. The reward is bigger than achieving a better inspection result. It is the chance to build a home you are proud to put your name to and to create one of the defining achievements of your career.

Is This Your Kind of Challenge? This opportunity will suit a Registered Nurse with active NMC registration who has already successfully managed within a nursing care-home environment and can evidence meaningful improvement. We want to understand what you inherited, what you changed, how you brought people with you and what became better because of your leadership. You may have completed a full turnaround or led a service through increased regulatory scrutiny.

Either way, you will understand how to translate an action plan into everyday practice, strengthen governance and create a culture in which high standards are owned by the whole team. Your leadership style will be collaborative and coaching, but not passive. You will be able to set clear expectations, address difficult issues and develop good people. Strong commercial judgement is equally important, including experience of increasing occupancy, reducing agency reliance and managing performance without losing sight of the residents behind every decision.

You will also be credible with external stakeholders and confident building constructive relationships with the Care Inspectorate, HSCP partners, families and healthcare professionals. An SVQ Level 4 qualification in Management and Leadership, or the recognised equivalent required for registration, is essential. For the right leader, success here will be noticed. You will have the opportunity to shape an important home, work with respected senior leaders and build a career within a group where talented people can progress as the organisation grows.

If this opportunity makes you pause, reflect on what you have already achieved and wonder what you could build next, we would like to hear from you. £70,000 per annum + 40% Annual Bonus + Private Medical Insurance The Opportuni
