PART-TIME HOST / HOSTESS FENIKS — Southampton, NY FENIKS is a fine dining restaurant in Southampton, owned and operated by Douglas Gulija , with an open kitchen and a strong focus on thoughtful food, genuine hospitality, and an exceptional guest experience. We’re looking for a polished, personable, and confident Host or Hostess to join our front-of-house team on a part-time basis.
As the first and last point of contact for many of our guests, the host plays an important role in setting the tone for the entire FENIKS experience. We’re looking for someone who understands that hospitality starts the moment a guest walks through the door. THE ROLE The ideal candidate is warm and welcoming while maintaining a polished, professional presence. You should be an excellent communicator who can remain calm under pressure, make thoughtful decisions, and confidently manage the flow of the dining room during service.
Responsibilities include: Welcoming guests with genuine warmth and professionalism Managing reservations and guest inquiries Answering questions about the restaurant, menu, reservations, and overall guest experience Seating the restaurant thoughtfully and efficiently during service Managing the pace and flow of the dining room in communication with the service team Making sound decisions in real time while maintaining a high level of hospitality Communicating clearly with guests, servers, management, and the kitchen Handling guest requests and concerns with grace and good judgment Maintaining a polished and welcoming appearance Helping create a seamless experience from arrival through departure WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR We’re looking for someone who: Has previous hosting, serving, or high-end hospitality experience Is polished, personable, and confident interacting with guests Possesses excellent communication skills Has strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities Can multitask while remaining composed and attentive Understands the importance of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail Is comfortable in a fast-paced fine dining environment Takes pride in representing a restaurant and its standards Has a genuine interest in hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences If you have strong hospitality instincts, excellent communication skills, and want to be part of a thoughtful, professional restaurant environment, we’d love to meet you.
