We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Southampton as our new Housekeeping Trainer. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the Housekeeping Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering structured training programs for the Housekeeping department at Fairmont Southampton. This role ensures that all housekeeping colleagues are fully trained in Fairmont and Accor brand standards, operational procedures, safety practices, and service excellence expectations.
The Housekeeping Trainer plays a key role in onboarding new colleagues, supporting ongoing skills development, and driving continuous improvement in cleanliness, quality, and efficiency across guest rooms and public areas., Training & Development Develop, implement, and deliver comprehensive training programs for housekeeping colleagues, aligned with Fairmont and Accor brand standards. Conduct structured onboarding and orientation for new housekeeping employees, ensuring a strong foundation in procedures, service culture, and safety requirements.
Provide ongoing refresher training and upskilling for existing colleagues on new products, equipment, techniques, and best practices. Adapt training content and delivery methods to meet operational needs and diverse learning styles. Quality Standards & Procedures Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of housekeeping procedures, standards, and checklists. Ensure all training materials reflect current brand guidelines, operational requirements, and health & safety standards.
Partner with Housekeeping leadership to identify performance gaps and implement targeted training solutions. Stay informed of emerging housekeeping trends, innovations, and best practices within the hospitality industry. Performance Support & Evaluation Assist with monitoring housekeeping performance through observations, audits, and feedback. Support performance evaluations by providing training feedback, coaching recommendations, and development plans.
Work closely with Supervisors and Head Housepersons to reinforce training outcomes on the floor. Recruitment & Onboarding Support Assist the Executive Housekeeper with the hiring, onboarding, and integration of new housekeeping colleagues. Ensure training records, attendance, and certification documentation are accurately maintained. Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and service excellence within the department.
Collaboration & Administration Collaborate with Housekeeping leadership, Human Resources, and Health & Safety teams to align training initiatives with hotel objectives. Maintain training schedules, materials, and documentation in accordance with company requirements. Participate in departmental meetings and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned to support housekeeping operations.

Prior experience in training, coaching, or supervisory responsibilities is strongly preferred. Education High school diploma or equivalent required Certification, diploma, or coursework in Hospitality, Training, or Adult Education is an asset. Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices related to housekeeping is required. Competencies, Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards, and luxury service expectations.
