Human Resources Officer Position Description Kibali Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Human Resources Officer to support the ARK Project mine expansion feasibility study. The Human Resources Officer will provide dedicated HR operational support to the ARK Project team during the feasibility study phase, ensuring accurate people administration, workforce mobilisation and demobilisation support, contractor HR compliance, employee relations support, payroll-input validation, HRIS data quality, site-access readiness and timely HR reporting.
The role will work closely with Project leadership, Site HR, contractors, employees, Finance, Payroll, HSE, Training, Project Controls and Community Relations to support project requirements, Kibali Gold Mine standards, Barrick's DNA and applicable DRC requirements. Position Details Location Kibali Gold Mine Site / ARK Project Contract Type Project-based contract / Fixed-term / CDI - to be confirmed Reporting Line Project HR Superintendent and/or Human Resources Manager Roster Site roster - to be confirmed Professional Category / Grade Officer level - to be aligned with Kibali internal grading structure Duties & Responsibilities • Project HR Support: Provide day-to-day HR support to the ARK Project feasibility study team, ensuring HR processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with project timelines.
• Workforce Planning and Mobilisation: Support workforce planning and mobilisation activities for each phase of the feasibility study, including tracking manpower plans, vacancies, onboarding status, mobilisation readiness and demobilisation requirements. • Recruitment and Onboarding Coordination: Coordinate recruitment and onboarding processes for project employees, technical specialists, consultants and operational support roles, in collaboration with Site HR, Recruitment and project stakeholders.
• Project Workforce Records: Maintain accurate project workforce records for employees, contractors and consultants, ensuring correct classification, documentation, site access status, reporting and compliance tracking, while respecting contractual and employment-status boundaries. • HRIS and Data Quality: Maintain accurate HRIS and project tracker data, perform regular data-quality checks, identify missing or inconsistent records and reconcile project workforce information with Site HR, Payroll and Project Controls.
• Payroll Input Validation: Assist with and validate payroll-related inputs, including timesheets, overtime, absences, leave, allowances, mobilisation/demobilisation changes, contract changes and employee movements, ensuring approval evidence and payroll cut-off discipline before submission. • Contract and Personnel File Administration: Support employment contract documentation, amendments, renewals, employee file maintenance and audit-ready record keeping in line with internal procedures and applicable legislation.
• DRC Statutory Compliance Support: Support compliance with the DRC Labour Code, ONEM requirements, CNSS documentation, INPP-related obligations where applicable, labour inspection requirements, internal HR policies and audit-ready personnel file management. • Employee and Contractor Queries: Respond professionally to employee and contractor queries regarding HR policies, benefits, procedures, site requirements, onboarding, mobilisation and general HR administration.
• Industrial and Labour Relations Support: Support industrial and labour relations matters relating to project employees and contractors, escalating complex or sensitive issues in accordance with Site HR procedures. • Grievance and Disciplinary Administration: Support grievance, disciplinary and labour-relations administration by maintaining records, preparing documentation, tracking actions and escalating sensitive matters through appropriate HR channels.
