By using independent judgment to identify excluded individuals, you will be assuring that those with disqualifying criminal histories are not hired as direct access care workers for vulnerable persons in Maine.You will also:• Evaluate, identify, and classify criminal history records (RAP sheets);• Interpret and evaluate legal documents;• Confirm applicant's identities against various exclusion lists; • Determine if individuals with criminal histories are able to be hired as direct access care workers for vulnerable persons in Maine; and• Perform computer testing for program enhancements.Minimum Qualifications:A two (2) year combination of complex clerical experience and/or post-secondary education to include at least six (6) months of experience in evaluating and interpreting legal documents.Preferred candidates will have: • Excellent oral and written communication skills.• Excellent telephone skills.• Knowledge of and experience with law enforcement or the criminal justice field in general.
