We are looking for and experienced and enthusiastic Information Governance Officer (Access to Information) to join our successful Information Governance Team working across Northwest and beyond As an MIAA Information Governance Officer, working within our Access to Information function, you will be earning up to £31,157 all within a flexible working environment. In your role you will provide support to existing NHS and Public Sector MIAA clients, individually, at place and at system level, to ensure that they meet highly complex legal and regulatory obligations in relation to Information Governance including confidentiality, information security, Data Protection, Freedom of Information and GDPR.
The Successful Applicant We want driven people who think creatively about their work, are structured and self-motivated, embrace challenges and can resolve complex problems[DEL: . :DEL] The successful applicant will, Receive, log and triage subject access and freedom of information requests in respect of multiple client organisations, Allocate requests to senior officers and liaise with clients to define and receive relevant information to support a response to the request, Undertake initial review of information to ensure that it meets the request.
Monitoring and report on performance, progress and compliance., The post is to provide support to the information assurance and access to information function., To be a recognised and proficient provider of information governance (IG) and access to information knowledge to support staff in their knowledge of data security and confidentiality, supported by technology and applications on behalf of the Assistant Director - Information Governance, developing and providing training, support and guidance to all levels of staff and management across the organisation and encouraging good practice.
To understand and adhere to information governance (IG) and access to information legislation and policies. To undertake activities to assist in the implementation, monitoring and operational process of data protection and, specifically subject access and freedom of information requests, across multiple clients. To develop a knowledge of the Access to Records Act, Data Protection Act and any other relevant legislation as the role requires.
Communicate effectively both internally and externally with colleagues, patients, and all stakeholders. To provide administrative and management support to the Information Governance Team and relevant client groups including scheduling; collation and provision of papers/reports; and action plan tracking and chasing. To assist in the investigation and management of Datix and service desk incidents pertinent to the role.
To assist in producing staff awareness, training documentation and manuals for clients. To track and monitor compliance with contracts, service level agreements and legislation as pertaining to freedom of information and subject access request processing. To help drive the production of the Information Governance Management Reporting suite. To help monitor and maintain the subject access request mailboxes and provide effective communication for point escalation.
Assist the team in reviewing subject access and freedom of information responses, ensuring appropriate redaction and using appropriate systems and tooling to action and record responses. Educated to A level standard, Level 6 (or above) or equivalent diplomas ECDL Evidence of continuous training in related areas Desirable criteria Professional qualification such as ISEB in GDPR/Data Protection Professional qualification such as Cyber Security Fundamentals or Practitioner, Demonstrable experience of successful multidisciplinary team working IT Literate (specifically in use of Microsoft Office products, security solutions and techniques) Experience of information security procedures and ability to evaluate process requirements Experience of investigations, advise and reporting on potentially complex
