The Opportunity This role sits within an infrastructure engineering function responsible for the physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure underpinning mission-critical digital services.
You’ll work across the full system development lifecycle, from design and build through to installation, testing and eventual decommissioning, rather than being confined to a single stage. You’ll have the opportunity to: Work on complex, security-critical infrastructure most infrastructure engineers never get access to Have end-to-end involvement, from design and build through to installation, testing and decommissioning Build deeper Linux administration, system hardening and automation experience in a high-assurance environment Have direct engagement with stakeholders across the capability development lifecycle, not just your immediate team A 12-month initial contract with two 12-month extension options, with room to build depth in the role The Role As the Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll provide engineering services across the system development lifecycle for physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include: Installing, configuring, testing and correcting hardware and software, including diagnosing and resolving malfunctions Designing, coding, testing, documenting and refactoring moderately complex programs and scripts Defining integration builds and produce build definitions for software generation Reviewing externally developed test plans and procedures to confirm alignment with requirements and verification processes.
Resolving issues that arise during capability development Leading infrastructure and platform design, implementation and support Engaging with stakeholders across the capability development lifecycle as required The Ideal Person You’re comfortable working in a high-assurance environment where documentation, testing and change discipline matter as much as technical skill. You will bring the following skills and experience: Demonstrated experience in Linux administration and system hardening Demonstrated experience in configuration management and automation Experience installing, configuring, maintaining and de-installing infrastructure systems An existing Positive Vetting security clearance is essential to be considered .
