Job summary We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Developer Tooling team within our Corporate IT & Services Division. This role is ideal for someone with an understanding of tools such as SCCM and InTune, GitHub, GitLab, or Artifactory, who is keen to develop their skills while supporting complex software packaging and configuration services. You will work as part of a collaborative team, helping to maintain reliable, secure, and efficient environments for our users.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the UK’s largest producer of official statistics, covering a range of key economic, social, and demographic topics. These include measuring changes in the value of the UK economy, estimating the size, geographic distribution, and characteristics of the population, and providing indicators of price inflation, employment, earnings, crime, and migration. Job description As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will support the day-to-day running of our developer tooling platforms and assist with software packaging, configuration, and deployment activities.

You will gain hands-on experience across a range of technologies while contributing to support, maintenance, and improvement of services. Responsibilities: Assist in supporting and maintaining platforms such as SCCM, GitHub, GitLab, and Artifactory Help package, configure, and deploy software to enterprise environments using tools such as SCCM and Intune Monitor systems and proactively resolve issues Support incident, request, and change management processes Assist in maintaining system documentation and procedures Follow established processes for implementing changes and updates Work with the team to ensure services are secure, available and performing effectively Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying enhancements, efficiencies and opportunities for automation Person specification Essential Criteria: Information Security (Working) - Use information security practices and available security controls to contribute to protecting solutions and services.

Troubleshooting and problem resolution (Working) - troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities Technical Understanding (Working) - understand the core technical concepts related to the role and apply them with guidance. Service focus (Working) - Take inputs from various sources and use these to guide the design, development, delivery and operation of a service.
