Quick Facts Location: 320 Hospital Drive, Martinsville, VA 24112 Start Date: 08/26/2026 Duration: Ongoing, with initial commitments through 10/30/2026 and 11/16/2026, then ongoing Shift: 4 days/week, 8-10 hours/day (pending patient volume) Hours/week: Approximately 40 hours Employment Type: Contract (with potential for long-term) License/Certs: Active VA license, board certified or eligible in Hematology/Oncology, Fellowship required Experience: Prior outpatient Hematology-Oncology experience preferred, with ability to see 12-15 patients/day Pay & Benefits Hourly Rate: $1.00/hour Benefits include: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, and travel reimbursement when applicable Robust referral bonus program 24/7 dedicated support team What You’ll Do Provide outpatient hematology and oncology consultation and care Manage 12-15 patients per day, including established cases Be available for light beeper-only call (2-5 calls/week, phone consults only) Collaborate within a team of three permanent HemOnc providers, RNs, PA/NPs, and office staff Use the Aria EMR system for documentation and care coordination Participate in mission-driven patient-centered care Support long-term sustainability with a community hospital setting What You Need Active Virginia medical license Board certification or eligibility in Hematology & Oncology Fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology Minimum of 3 years outpatient experience in a clinical setting Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation About the Assignment This is an excellent opportunity to join a community-focused, established oncology practice, offering flexible scheduling, a supportive team, and an apartment available for lodging.
The facility is Stroke certified and non-trauma, providing a focused environment for high-quality patient care. Credentialing is estimated at around 60 days, with options for expedited process and temporary privileges, aligning with your start date of late August.
