Highlights Well-established community-based residency program ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program Maintain an active clinical practice Mission-focused organization Collaborative team of dedicated, diverse, and family-oriented faculty Opportunity to shape the next generation of Internal Medicine physicians Academic leadership and career development opportunities Responsibilities Teaching and Mentorship Devote approximately 16 hours weekly to residency administration, education, and resident supervision.
Provide clinical supervision, instruction, and mentorship to Internal Medicine residents in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Facilitate didactic lectures, case conferences, journal clubs, simulation activities, and evidence-based medicine discussions. Support resident wellness, professional development, and career planning. Curriculum Development Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the Internal Medicine Residency curriculum.
Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to ensure curriculum aligns with ACGME requirements and current best practices. Assist in resident assessment, milestone evaluations, and program improvement initiatives. Clinical Care Maintain an active clinical practice in Internal Medicine. Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care, including preventative services, chronic disease management, transitions of care, and acute inpatient/outpatient medicine.
Serve as a role model for high-quality, evidence-based medical care. Scholarship and Research Participate in scholarly activities, including research, quality improvement projects, academic presentations, and publications. Encourage and mentor resident involvement in scholarly pursuits and quality improvement initiatives. Foster a culture of lifelong learning and inquiry. Committee Participation Serve on departmental, residency, and institutional committees as assigned.
Contribute to program leadership, strategic planning, accreditation activities, and quality improvement efforts. Qualifications Board Certification in Internal Medicine required. Eligibility for unrestricted California medical licensure. Demonstrated commitment to resident and medical student education. Experience providing care in a rural or underserved community preferred. Prior teaching experience with residents and/or medical students preferred.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaborative skills.
