Job at a glance
As Site Leader in Mechelen, you’ll be the main point of contact on site and the right-hand person for the team of 8 to 10 colleagues. You’ll keep day-to-day operations on track, maintain an overview when schedules change, and ensure everyone knows what needs to be done. You’ll be working in a technical environment where rail infrastructure, overhead lines and installation work come together — varied work, with the necessary responsibility and team spirit.
Your tasks are varied and practical: • You coordinate the work on site and monitor the schedule. • You manage workers and subcontractors and ensure smooth collaboration. • You conduct toolbox meetings and ensure safety rules are followed correctly and consistently. • You draw up digital daily reports and handle the administrative follow-up. • You order materials and liaise with the relevant parties to keep the site running smoothly.
• You contribute ideas for technical and practical solutions, even when unexpected problems arise. • You are close to the team: approachable, clear, fair and empathetic in your approach. You will be taking on a role offering a great deal of autonomy and variety. You will usually go directly to the sites and occasionally visit the office in Muizen for meetings. Night and weekend work are part of the job, but the schedule is known in advance.
