Duration: 3 months contract Note: Inside IR 35 (PAYE) About the Role As a Lab Technician, you will support chemical testing, sampling, analysis, and monitoring activities within a crude oil refinery environment. You will help ensure accurate results, safe operations, and effective chemical system performance . Key Responsibilities Collect and analyze crude oil, process, and water samples. Conduct routine chemical and physical laboratory testing.
Monitor chemical injection systems and dosage rates. Record, interpret, and report laboratory test results. Identify abnormalities and support troubleshooting activities. Maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and consumables. Support chemical system performance and optimization. Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation. Follow HSE, quality, and laboratory procedures at all times.
Work closely with field and customer teams to support operational requirements. Requirements Technical Diploma, Degree, or equivalent experience. Experience in a laboratory, analytical, chemical, refinery, or oil & gas environment. Practical experience in sampling, testing, and analysis. Good understanding of laboratory practices and procedures. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork skills. Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel. Experience with chemical injection systems. Knowledge of ASTM, UOP, IP, or HACH testing methods. Experience with LIMS. Experience working with tank farms, desalters, distillation, or refinery process units.
