You'll play a key role in prepping and handling samples, keeping records accurate, and maintaining a clean laboratory to support on-time results everyday.
You'll collaborate with a strong team of committed professionals, contribute to meaningful scientific work, and grow your expertise in a dynamic, quality-driven environment.The compensation range for this role is $22.00 to $25.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. Schedule: Friday - Tues 12:30pm - 9pm Weekdays and 8:30am - 5pm on WeekendsTo thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:Capable of high-throughput preparation of environmental samples for metals testing.Proficiency using analytical equipment including: balances, pipettes, bottle top dispensers, hot blocks, and volumetric/graduated glassware.Daily monitoring of sample scheduling to ensure that samples are processed within EPA's and methods' holding timeSchedule workload in order to process samples within clients expected due datesRoutine sample preparation according to Standard Methods and EPA methodsPerforms analyst's review of data and QCReviews of QA/QC criteria for batch acceptanceAdheres to Standard Operating Procedures and follow safe work practicesParticipates in instruments' preventative maintenance and trouble shootingParticipates in focus teams to improve efficiencyBe flexible in work schedule including overtime when neededReact to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assignedPerforming other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the CompanyCompliance with our Quality Assurance Program and other policiesYour Expertise and SkillsThese requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.High School DiplomaBachelor's degree in any science field is a plusMinimum 1 year of lab experience preferredKnowledge of general lab practices and lab safetyKnowledge of basic laboratory techniques preferred (knowledge of PPE, use of balance, pipetting, glassware handling, etc.)Experience in metal preparation is a plusAbility to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs.Ability to remain in a stationary position for extensive periods of timePreferred SkillsKnowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safetyMust be flexible in work schedule and able to work overtimeGood organizational and communication skillsAbility to multi-taskAbility to work independently and make sound decisionsOnterris is a leading global environmental solutions company partnering with organizations to solve complex challenges where environmental pressures, regulatory expectations and operational risks intersect.
