JOB PURPOSE:Assist in directing the day-to-day aspects of the Weld area while participating in the production of quality parts as needed to maximize safety, productivity and quality.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Train and direct the work of department employees in their responsibilities and safe working proceduresPerform welding functions, set-up and operate all equipment in the department as neededPromote adherence to the production schedule in order to maintain accurate inventory levelsComplete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely mannerPerform accurate and timely Oracle transactionsCommunicate and coordinate with other departments as neededReport shortages, poor quality, supply needs, equipment breakdowns, safety hazards, incidents and performance issues to the supervisorOperate forklift, hoist and pallet jackNON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Perform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or equivalentExperienced and proficient MIG/Pulse Welder with 3 - 5 years welding experience, including Life Fitness specific welding experiencePrevious leadership experience preferredSolid organizational and problem solving skillsEffectively communicate in English (read, write, speak and understand), including giving clear work direction to team membersExcellent interpersonal communication skillsRead prints/work instructionsRead and complete process sheetsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced team environmentProficient computer skills including Oracle and emailHave tools necessary for the jobPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Lift up to 30 lbs up to 60% of shift and 50 lbs less than 30% of shift; push/pull up to 30 lbsWalk, stand, bend, twist/turn, reach overhead and grasp tools as necessaryOperate forklift, hoist and pallet jackAt Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, we believe in taking care of our team with a comprehensive total rewards package that includes competitive pay and a range of valuable benefits.
Your base wage will be between $30.75 - $41.25 per hour and includes eligibility for overtime. The actual wage offer will be based on qualifications, experience, location, and other relevant factors. You'll have the opportunity to participate in the Production Bonus Plan, which provides opportunities to earn additional compensation based on performance metrics.
