Description A locum tenens opportunity is available for a Physician in Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP Cardiology) starting September 9, 2026 , with ongoing and block-based coverage needs. Coverage includes weekday clinic and hospital work with additional short-term blocks in September and October.
About the facility This is a 270-bed acute care hospital with integrated inpatient and outpatient cardiology services, including a dedicated electrophysiology program. Practice Setting: Hospital, clinic, and academic environment EMR: Epic Patient Population: Adults (18–100) Outpatient Volume: ~16 patients/day Inpatient Volume: ~10–15 patients/day Support Staff: 1 outpatient clinical team and 1 inpatient APP Procedures: Pacemakers, ICDs (traditional and sub-Q), loop recorders, and ablations (SVT, AVN, atrial flutter) Compensation: Pay Rate: Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting.
Travel expenses reimbursed, including: Mileage Rental car Hotel Flight Malpractice Covered Job Responsibilities Provide inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology care Perform EP procedures including device implantation and ablations Manage outpatient clinic (~16 patients/day) and inpatient consults (~10–15 patients/day) Support scheduled weekday EP service and block coverage periods Collaborate with APPs and cardiology team Document care in Epic EMR Qualifications MD or DO in Cardiac Electrophysiology Board Certification in EP required Active medical license (willing to license accepted) DEA required ACLS and BLS required Experience with EP procedures required Credentialing ~90 days (temps possible with clean file) Working Hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM No call required Block coverage includes: September 9–11 October 19–30 Ongoing coverage needs beyond blocks Contract: 13-week blocks with extension potential Skills Electrophysiology procedures (pacemaker, ICD, loop recorder, ablations) Arrhythmia diagnosis and management Inpatient and outpatient EP workflow management Epic EMR proficiency Strong collaboration in hospital + clinic settings High-volume cardiology practice experience
