We are seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in Des Moines, Iowa . This role offers strong support staff, manageable patient volume, and ongoing coverage potential. 📍 Location Des Moines, Iowa 📅 Coverage Dates June 12 (7:00 AM) – June 19 (7:00 AM) Additional ongoing dates may be available ⏰ Schedule Patient contact hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM 24-hour call On-site for 8 hours daily 🏥 Practice Setting Inpatient coverage at a major regional medical center No outreach or telehealth responsibilities Team support includes: 1 Physician 2 Advanced Practice Providers APP supervision not required 📊 Patient Volume Average hospital census: 10–12 patients per day (APP support available) 💻 Technology EMR: Epic On-site medical imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy 🔬 Procedures Performed Colonoscopy EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound) ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) ✈️ Travel & Lodging Flights reimbursed Hotel Rental car Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate ✅ Requirements Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Gastroenterology Fellowship trained in Gastroenterology Active Iowa License or IMLC Must perform EUS & ERCP Must be available for the June 12 – June 19 coverage Clean malpractice/background history NPDB self-query required (recent) 🌆 Why Des Moines?
