Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR) Position Type: Locum Tenens Location: Bismarck, North Dakota Facility: CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center Start Date: August 2026 (Ongoing Coverage) Coverage Needed: 8/13/2026 – 8/18/2026, with ongoing 2026/2027 opportunities Job Overview CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist for ongoing locum tenens coverage.

The provider will perform a broad spectrum of general interventional radiology procedures and take evening/weekend call coverage. Stroke thrombectomy experience is preferred but not required. Providers must be comfortable performing all core IR procedures listed below. Schedule Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Evening Call: 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM Weekend Call: 24-hour call coverage Orientation: 8/12/2026, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM Practice Details Average Procedures: 10–15 per day EMR: Epic Reason for Coverage: Scheduling Gap No diagnostic reading responsibilities between cases Required Procedures Candidates must have experience with: Angiography (arterial & venous) Angioplasty Stenting Thrombolytic therapy Embolization procedures PICC lines and central lines Port placements IVC filters TIPS Biopsies (including bone) Abscess drainages Thoracentesis Paracentesis Myelography Pain management procedures Epidural and joint injections Vertebroplasty Chest tube placement Uterine artery embolization Y90/TACE Gastrostomy tube placement Nephrostomy and ureteral stents Cryoablation Biliary and renal interventions Preferred: Neuro-interventional stroke thrombectomy experience.

Requirements Board Certified in Interventional Radiology Active North Dakota License preferred IMLC required if ND license is not active IR Residency and/or Fellowship Training Current ACLS and BLS Certifications Clean malpractice history preferred Availability confirmed at submission Experience with all listed procedures Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation Credentialing Timeframe: 60–90 Days No Temporary Privileges Available Travel & Lodging Travel providers welcome Air travel accepted Lodging reimbursed per facility guidelines Compensation Competitive daily rates with call coverage and callback compensation.
