Quick Facts Location: Mercy Medical Center, 2175 Rosaline Avenue, Redding, CA 96001 Start Date: 08/28/2026 End Date: Ongoing / as scheduled based on coverage needs Shift: PM shift, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM Hours/Week: Variable, based on schedule Employment Type: Contract, locum License/Certs: Active CA license required Experience: Trauma/Critical Care experience preferred Pay & Benefits Competitive hourly pay packages (rates negotiated upon application) Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Medical benefits (W-2 included) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Travel, licensure, certification, and other reimbursements when applicable Support from a dedicated team committed to your success What You’ll Do Perform patient history and physical exams for trauma patients Make accurate assessments and diagnoses Initiate and revise treatment plans within regulatory guidelines Order and interpret diagnostic studies, labs, and imaging Recognize urgent situations and institute life-saving interventions Counsel patients and families on health management and discharge plans Coordinate admissions, referrals, and follow-up care Support surgical operations as needed, including first or second assist in trauma cases Provide surgical assistance for procedures such as wound management, fracture reductions, and chest tube placements Collaborate with trauma surgeons and multidisciplinary staff to deliver optimal patient outcomes What You Need Required: Active California NP license Trauma or critical care experience (preferred) Ability to perform first or second assist in surgeries (documented training or approved course completion) Strong assessment and patient management skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Preferred: Experience with robotic-assisted surgeries (da Vinci) Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or similar BLS certification About the Assignment Join a reputable trauma service at a Level II Trauma Center in Redding, CA.
The team manages approximately 20-25 ICU patients daily, supporting trauma, neuro-trauma, and critical care needs.
