Quick Facts Location: Mercy Medical Center, Redding, CA Start Date: 08/28/2026 Duration: Ongoing locum coverage Shift: Variable shifts, including PM (3 p.m.
to 1 a.m.) Hours/Week: 40+ Employment Type: Locum License/Certs: California license required Experience: Trauma/Critical Care experience preferred Pay & Benefits Pay package discussed upon application Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with all applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel reimbursements when applicable What You’ll Do Perform patient history and physical examinations for trauma patients Make assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans in accordance with PA regulations Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging Recognize urgent situations and initiate life-saving interventions Counsel patients on health management, medication, and injury recovery Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and follow-ups Assist in procedures such as local anesthesia, wound management, and fracture reductions Support surgical team as a first or second assist under approved protocols What You Need Required: California Physician Assistant license Trauma or critical care experience preferred Ability to perform surgical assistance and procedures listed Certification in BLS Preferred: Experience with robotic-assisted surgery (da Vinci) is beneficial Advanced trauma experience and additional certifications About the Assignment Join a highly regarded Level II Trauma Center in Redding, CA, to support trauma and surgical services across busy shifts.
