Description A locum tenens opportunity is available for a Urology Physician to provide clinic-focused coverage in a hospital-affiliated setting. This assignment includes a structured mix of outpatient visits and in-office/OR-based procedures, supported by a full clinical team. The role offers a predictable weekday schedule with no call responsibilities and defined short-term coverage blocks, making it ideal for physicians seeking focused, high-efficiency clinical work.

Coverage Dates: June 29 – July 3 July 20 – July 24 About the facility This is an acute care hospital with an established urology program that blends outpatient clinic care with procedural services. The department typically manages a steady patient volume and incorporates both office-based and surgical workflows. Practice Setting: Hospital-based clinic EMR System: Epic Support Staff: 4 Medical Assistants (MAs), 1 Registered Nurse (RN), 1 Clinical Support Associate (CSA) Operating Rooms: 16 total (main hospital + affiliated surgery center) Robotic Surgery: Available (not required) Office Equipment: Cystoscope, towers, injection capabilities APP Supervision: Required (working with newer APPs) Patient Population: Primarily adults (18+), with rare emergency pediatric cases (e.g., torsion during call scenarios handled by hospital teams) Department Workflow: Mix of clinic visits and procedures, averaging 24–28 patients per day (generally not exceeding this unless urgent needs arise) Compensation: Pay Rate: Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting.

Travel expenses reimbursed, including: Mileage Rental car Hotel Flight Malpractice Covered Job Responsibilities Provide outpatient urology care in a clinic-based setting Perform required and standard urologic procedures in both office and OR settings Manage a daily patient volume of approximately 24–28 patients Collaborate with support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and care delivery Supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) Document all patient encounters using Epic EMR Core Procedures Required: Vasectomy Cystoscopy (including OR cases) Prostate procedures Ureteroscopy (OR) Lithotripsy Orchiopexy Preferred / Optional: Vasectomy reversal (not mandatory) Penile plication Penile implants (rare) Circumcision (rare; typically handled by OB, occasional support if needed) Robotic procedures (if part of physician’s practice; not required) Qualifications Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Urology Active state medical license preferred for faster start (willing to license) DEA certification required Minimum of 1 year of experience required Comfortable with both clinic and procedural urology Willingness to supervise APPs Working Hours Schedule: Monday – Friday Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Shift Length: 8 hours Lunch: 1 hour Call: None Schedule Type: Scheduled shifts only (no block scheduling flexibility required) Skills Strong clinical expertise in general urology Proficiency in common urologic procedures and interventions Ability to efficiently manage a moderate-to-high patient volume Comfort working in a clinic-first, procedure-integrated environment Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Experience with electronic medical records (Epic preferred) Additional Information Coverage Type: Clinic-focused, full-week blocks Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days Temporary Privileges: Available for candidates with a clean file Department Expectation: Consistent, efficient workflow with balanced procedural and clinic responsibilities
