Locum Critical Care NP/PA — Boston, Massachusetts Candidate Snapshot Start Date: November 11, 2026 Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital / Teaching Hospital Trauma Level: Adult/Peds I–IV Practice Setting: ICU Patient Population: Adult Average Daily Census: 7 ICU Beds: 10 EMR: Epic Support: 4 APPs on staff. MD supervision during day shifts; fellow/attending supervision during night shifts. Some independence is preferred.

Availability Coverage: 3 x 13-hour shifts per week Day Shift: 6:00 AM–7:00 PM Night Shift: 6:00 PM–7:00 AM Primary Need: Nights and weekends Weekend Preference: 4 weekend shifts per month Minimum Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts per month Weekend Definition: Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Friday night counts as a weekend shift. Scheduling: Provider does not need to work all 3 shifts every weekend.

Preferred: Local providers who can stay in town. Licensure Massachusetts License: Required Certifications Board Certification: Acute Care with ICU experience required ACLS: Required BLS: Required DEA: Required Experience Minimum Experience: 2+ years of critical care experience Required Clinical Experience: ICU experience Clinical Requirements Acute Care NP/PA background with ICU experience 2+ years of critical care experience Comfortable working with some independence Primarily available for nights and weekends Minimum 2 weekend shifts per month Able to work 3 x 13-hour shifts per week Clinical Practice Typical Day: Round with the Attending in the morning Complete clinical tasks Round again in the afternoon Function as a responding clinician APP Role: Responding clinicians only No procedures performed by APPs No APP billing Patient Population / Cases: Bread-and-butter ICU Medical/surgical patients 1–2 burn patients Not Required: No intubations No lines No ventilators No transplants No ECHO No head cases No EVD No complex neuro stroke Key Requirements License: Massachusetts Certification: Acute Care with ICU experience Experience: 2+ years critical care Certifications: ACLS, BLS DEA: Required Availability: 3 x 13-hour shifts weekly, primarily nights and weekends Weekend Commitment: Minimum 2 weekend shifts per month; Friday nights count as weekend shifts Allow RecruitWell to set up a phone call with you and the client to discuss more!
