Locums - Charlotte, North Carolina | NP/PA General Surgery (HPB) Opportunity Clinical Role Join an established Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) General Surgery team in Charlotte, North Carolina, providing inpatient surgical support for a high-volume surgical service. This ongoing locums opportunity offers a collaborative practice environment with no call responsibilities and support from an experienced APP team.

Assignment Details Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Coverage: Scheduled clinical coverage only No call responsibilities Position Highlights Ongoing NP/PA General Surgery opportunity Focus on Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery patients Support four HPB surgeons Primarily inpatient responsibilities Occasional outpatient clinic coverage No call required Multiple providers accepted Level I Trauma Center Stroke-certified hospital Epic EMR system Clinical Details & Responsibilities Practice Setting: Primarily inpatient Occasional outpatient clinic coverage Patient Volume: Approximately 15 patients per shift Facility Information: 30-bed service Level I Trauma Center Stroke-certified hospital Clinical Responsibilities: Provide inpatient coverage for the HPB surgical service Manage patients with benign and malignant hepatopancreatobiliary diagnoses Perform admissions and coordinate patient care Conduct daily inpatient rounds Collaborate with attending surgeons and multidisciplinary teams Provide occasional outpatient clinic coverage as needed Patient Population: Benign HPB disease Malignant HPB disease Complex surgical patients Support & Technology Support Staff: Three additional APPs supporting the service Four dedicated HPB surgeons Multidisciplinary inpatient care team EMR System: Epic Requirements Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with General Surgery experience – Required Active North Carolina License – Required BLS Certification – Required Experience in General Surgery required HPB, surgical oncology, or complex surgical patient management experience preferred Organization & Team Established HPB surgical program Collaborative multidisciplinary environment Supportive APP team structure Academic-style practice setting Multiple provider coverage model About Charlotte, North Carolina Location & Access: Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina and a major financial, healthcare, and transportation hub in the Southeast, offering excellent connectivity through a major international airport and interstate system.
