Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Locums Opportunity – Marquette, MI Availability November 19 (7:00 AM) – November 23 (7:00 AM) Orientation 11/18 Schedule 10–14 days per month ongoing Day Coverage: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (in-house) Night Coverage: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (on-call, in-house) Call Type In-house call required Response time expectation: 15 minutes Requirements License Active Michigan license required Board Certification Board Certified required Neonatology Board Certification preferred (or Board Eligible) Certifications NRP required PALS required Skills / Procedures Required Intubation Chest tube placement Central line placement Paracentesis Lumbar punctures (spinal taps) Exchange transfusion Therapeutic hypothermia (cooling) Ventilator management (including oscillators and iNO) Practice Details Setting Level III NICU (non-surgical subspecialty unit) Patient Volume ~10 patients per shift Bed Capacity 21 NICU beds EMR Cerner Clinical Responsibilities NICU admissions Daily rounding on assigned patients Stabilization and management of critically ill neonates Management of: Respiratory Distress Syndrome Pulmonary Hypertension Pneumothorax Sepsis Seizures Very Low Birth Weight (VLBW) infants Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Stabilization of surgical cases for transfer NICU Environment Established NICU since the 1970s Highly experienced and collaborative RN staff Respiratory Therapy support for: Conventional ventilators Oscillators iNO CPAP High-flow nasal cannula Modern facility (new hospital build as of 2019) Ancillary & Specialty Support General Pediatrics Pediatric Neurology Infectious Disease External consult support at three Children's Hospitals Diagnostics & Resources MRI CT EEG Location Marquette Lake Superior coastal community with strong quality-of-life recognition Key Highlights Level III NICU with high-acuity neonatal care In-house call structure with structured schedule (10–14 shifts/month) Strong multidisciplinary neonatal support team Extensive procedural requirements for advanced neonatal care Established referral network with major regional children’s hospitals Cerner EMR environment Allow RecruitWell to set up a phone call with you and the client to discuss more!
