Locum OB Hospitalist – OB Emergency Department | St. Louis, Missouri IMLC Accepted | No Call | High-Volume OB ED Referral Bonus Available Key Candidate Requirements Specialty: OB Hospitalist – OB Emergency Department Licensure: Active Missouri license OR IMLC accepted Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible Certifications: ACLS and BLS required Experience: Comfortable in high-volume OB ED environment , strong triage and emergency obstetric experience preferred Assignment Details Start Date: August 1, 2026 Assignment Type: Ongoing locum Coverage Need: 30–40 shifts per month Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts : 7 AM – 7 PM and 7 PM – 7 AM Consecutive shifts: Determined by provider availability No on-call shifts ; all shifts are hospital-based in-house Multiple locums may be used to cover full schedule Practice Setting Facility: Level I Trauma Center Location: OB ED – 12 beds Patient Volume: 40–60 patients/day EMR: Epic Support Staff: RNs: 2–3 per shift depending on time of day; 2 dedicated to triage; 2–3 in treatment area Sonographer coverage: 18 hours/day Tech coverage: 12 hours/day APPs (PA, NP, Certified Nurse Midwives): 12–18 hours/day, supplement physician care Clinical Responsibilities Evaluate and manage pregnant patients up to 6 weeks postpartum Admit patients as needed Manage assigned and unassigned patient rounding Collaborate closely with APPs, OB hospitalists, and nursing staff Manage OB ED diagnoses, including ectopic pregnancies and other urgent OB/GYN complaints Support high-volume, fast-paced environment with focus on team-based patient care Staffing Coverage Weekdays Day Shift: 2 OB GYNs in-house + 1 OB ED physician All Other Shifts (nights/weekends): 1 OB hospitalist in-house + 1 OB ED physician APP Support: Provides supplemental care to maintain coverage in 12-bed OB ED Notes Role is intended for OB providers , not EM providers Fully hospital-based , no clinic-only shifts Multiple locum providers may be scheduled to cover all required shifts Allow RecruitWell to set up a phone call with you and the client to discuss more!
