Job Description HGV Class 1 Driver - Uttoxeter People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, guaranteed minimum paid hours, no handball, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression. This position would be suitable for applicants who have previously worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Rates of Pay: £17.28 per hour basic rate Overtime paid at £21.60 per hour Minimum 9.5 hours paid per shift No break deductions Shift Pattern: As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will work: Monday to Friday Start times between 15:00 and 19:00 Benefits: Your benefits as an HGV Class 1 Driver are: Excellent hourly rates Guaranteed minimum paid hours No handball required Ongoing work Weekly pay On-site canteen Employee wellbeing programme Immediate starts available Paid induction Day-to-Day Duties: Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are: Carrying out RDC and brewery deliveries using curtain-side vehicles with no handball required Operating Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance requirements Completing all relevant paperwork and tachograph records accurately Essential Skills: To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need: A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence A valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience No more than six penalty points for minor offences with no major endorsement codes A good level of spoken and written English Excellent timekeeping and reliability A good understanding of traffic laws and regulations Professional communication skills and a positive attitude Training: Driver assessment required before starting One-day paid induction following a successful assessment Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment Apply: If you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity as an HGV Class 1 Driver, apply today by clicking the link below and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch.
