Maintenance Mechanic

Pay Rate: $32.91 per hour. This is a full-time, on-site role (40 hours per week), with weekend and overtime hours required as needed. This position is part of a seniority based Collective Bargaining Unit (CBA), and expected to work primarily Swing Shift.Join our legacy of talented people working together to provide the highest level of customer service. Retirement savings plans, including a defined-benefit pension plan is also provided to eligible employees.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMonitor the condition of all production equipment, forklifts and other machineryPerform installation, troubleshooting and repairs to production equipment, machinery, and plant facilities.Interpret blueprints and perform metal or wood fabrication for plant machineryInstall and repair electrical distribution systems and power wiring and equipmentInstall and repair motors, motor wiring, and control systemsPerform arc and gas welding of ferrous and non-ferrous metalsMaintain heating system, ventilation, boiler, and air conditioning unitsPerform maintenance and repair to forklifts Perform general carpentry work, plumbing and pipefittingMaintain a clean, organized and hazard free work environmentPerform other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and Plant ManagerPacific Coast Producers is a food processing facility, and it is the responsibility of every employee to perform all job duties and other activities in a manner that upholds the safety and quality of the facilities and products produced.

In addition, it is the responsibility of each employee to report all food safety issues or concerns to a Production Manager, Plant Manager or QA ManagementMinimum QualificationsFour years’ experience as a Mechanic or a similar technical position; with two years’ experience as a Mechanic II at Pacific Coast Producers. Associates degree from a mechanical, electrical, or electronic technology program may be substituted for one year of required experience.Demonstrated proficiency in at least four of the following skills: electrical, welding, lift truck mechanics, plumbing/pipefitting, heating/air conditioning systems, boiler care and maintenance, instrument repair, machine adjustment and repair, and carpentry.Demonstrate ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions related to operations and safety.Demonstrates excellent safety record and follows all Good Manufacturing Practices.Must possess and maintain a good attendance record.Must be LTO certified.Physical RequirementsFrequent physical activity includes walking, bending, standing, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs., touching, reaching, gripping, finger dexterity, and hearing.

Moderate physical activity may include stooping, color identification, close vision, and depth perception.
