Mammography Technologist – Day Shift | South Carolina Permanent & Full-Time Direct Hire Mammography | Breast Imaging | Hospital-Based | Multiple Openings A hospital-based breast imaging department located in northeastern South Carolina, approximately two hours from Charleston, is seeking experienced Mammography Technologists to join its breast imaging team. Five openings are currently available , providing several daytime schedule options.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified mammography professionals seeking a stable hospital-based position with a consistent daytime schedule. Schedule Five permanent, full-time openings available Hospital-based breast imaging department Four openings: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM One opening: 72 hours biweekly, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM Day-shift positions Schedule details to be discussed during the interview process Schedule requirements may vary based on departmental needs Duties & Responsibilities Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations according to established protocols.
Prepare patients for mammography procedures and explain examinations clearly and compassionately. Verify patient identification, clinical history, and examination orders. Position patients appropriately for mammographic examinations. Operate mammography equipment safely and effectively. Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists. Perform appropriate views and additional imaging as clinically indicated.
Evaluate images for technical quality, positioning, compression, and exposure. Obtain additional images or repeat examinations when appropriate. Assist with specialized breast imaging procedures as required. Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation. Follow established radiation-safety and ALARA principles. Follow infection-control and patient-safety procedures. Perform quality-control procedures and report equipment issues appropriately.
Maintain compliance with departmental, regulatory, accreditation, safety, and quality standards. Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals. Provide compassionate and professional patient care throughout examinations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized breast imaging environment.
Participate in quality-assurance and quality-improvement initiatives. Maintain continuing education and professional competency requirements. Perform additional mammography and breast imaging responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Previous Mammography Technologist experience required. ARRT certification/registry in Radiography and Mammography required. Appropriate state licensure/credentialing requirements must be met.
BLS certification required. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent required. Strong knowledge of mammography positioning, breast anatomy, radiation safety, compression, and image quality. Demonstrated ability to independently perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations. Experience in a hospital-based breast imaging environment preferred. Strong patient-care and communication skills.
