The Financial Close Controller team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager to be a part of the Controller organization's transformative journey towards becoming trusted and valued business partners delivering Financial Results in an entirely new way through best in class people, processes and innovation. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the financial close process, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial results.
Partner with business stakeholders to analyze financial performance, assess risks, and provide insights that support business decision-making. Drive the transformation of financial close activities through process optimization, centralization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide guidance on accounting matters, financial reporting requirements, new transactions, and business initiatives while maintaining strong governance and controls.
Support internal and external reporting requirements, audit activities, and the overall control environment. Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, systems, data quality, and reporting capabilities, partnering with cross-functional teams to implement solutions. Leverage technology and emerging tools to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability across finance processes. Lead and support strategic projects and organizational transformation initiatives.
Manage and develop teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Review and assess complex accounting transactions, contracts, and policies, providing recommendations and guidance as required. Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related field. CPA designation or equivalent finance experience is considered an asset. Experience Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, financial reporting, or related areas.
Strong knowledge and practical experience applying IFRS accounting standards, including expert-level knowledge of IFRS 16 (Leases). Technical Skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with SAP FI, SAP BI, or similar financial systems is considered an asset. Experience with automation, AI, machine learning, or data analytics tools is an asset. Leadership / People Skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Proven ability to build relationships and influence across functions and leadership levels. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and emerging technologies. Ability to take ownership, drive results, and lead through change. Experience coaching, developing, and leading high-performing teams, including virtual teams.
