This is a brand-new, exciting opportunity we've never had before! As our very first Engineering Document Writer, you will have the unique opportunity to shape how we capture and share technical knowledge across our manufacturing operations. You will bridge the gap between engineering experts and shop-floor teams, turning complex technical methods into clear, engaging Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), visual work instructions, and process guides from the ground up., Help build and define standardised technical documentation across Lush manufacturing and the wider business Work directly alongside engineers and shop-floor operators to shadow processes and draft clear SOPs, Work Instructions, and machine setup guides Map manufacturing workflows, line layouts, and operational sequences using visual flowcharts Maintain and organise a central engineering document repository to ensure version control and accessibility alongside our quality team Work in collaboration with the quality team to Review, audit, and update existing documentation to ensure alignment with current operational practices Create visual quick-reference guides, training materials, and user sheets to support continuous improvement projects Ensure all documented procedures comply with the necessary Health & Safety, GMP and Environmental standards You are meticulous about detail, passionate about engineering, communicate clearly, and are excited to help establish a brand-new function within our engineering support network.

You enjoy stepping out onto the shop floor to shadow operators and translate hands-on technical processes into clear, accessible formats. Exceptional technical writing, editing, and formatting skills with an eye for clear, visual communication Ability to break down complex engineering, equipment, or technical concepts into simple, readable documentation Basic understanding of manufacturing environments, lean methodologies, or process mapping (e.g.

SOPs, visual work instructions) Proficient with Google Workspace, MS Office, and documentation or diagramming tools Excellent interpersonal skills-comfortable spending time on the factory floor interviewing subject matter experts Highly organised with an understanding of document control, repository management, and version history A proactive, self-starter mindset ready to help build technical documentation standards from scratch Ideally holds a qualification or degree in Technical Communication, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field (Not Necessary) You might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there's more to this great-smelling, partly employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics.
